A Young Person Talks To Her Drinking Friends To Learn More Information About Alcohol Addiction And Alcohol Abuse

Posted by Rolf Joho on Apr 18, 2010

Diane drank quite heavily on a regular basis with her buddies. One Tuesday after school she began thinking about the amount of alcohol she ingested on a regular basis and the abusive and careless drinking of her drinking friends. As a result of this, she politely asked all of her pals the following question: “what do we really know about alcohol abuse, alcoholism, binge drinking, and alcohol poisoning? That is to say, how much alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse information do we really know? For our age, we surely drink in a hazardous and excessive manner and I am beginning to wonder if we are headed for a life filled with alcohol-associated issues when we become adults.

I believe we should go online and discover all that we can about alcohol poisoning, alcoholism, binge drinking, and alcohol abuse. And then if we have any relevant issues that we don’t comprehend after we finish our online research, we can go to the student health center at the college and ask Nurse Wallen to explain things to us.”

It Shouldn’t Come as a Complete Shock That What Diane Articulated Would Instigate a Heated Discussion

It shouldn’t come as a complete surprise that what Diane articulated would instigate a heated discussion. As a case in point, her very best friend, Kristina, articulated that they are too healthy and too young to be worried about hazardous and excessive drinking. Another buddy named Isaac believed that since most junior high and high school students drink there’s no reason why they should be any different. Another pal named Kaley stated that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her friends. And still another drinking friend named Ramon in truth agreed with Diane mainly because his parents were both alcohol abusers and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related problems.

Diane revealed to her pals that she understood everything that they had said but that involving oneself in hazardous and irresponsible drinking at such a young age in truth can’t be very healthy or something that contributes toward establishing a meaningful life. When two or three of her drinking buddies asked what kind of alcohol difficulties Diane was discussing, Diane articulated the following: alcohol-related diseases such as cirrhosis of the liver, heart disease, and cancer, and other alcohol-related problems like alcoholism, alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities, and alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances).

Excessive Drinking Usually Results in Drinking Problems

When Diane then stressed that careless and hazardous drinking typically results in school, legal, financial, and relationship problems, some of her drinking friends finally started to comprehend how all-embracing and how unhealthy irresponsible drinking can be. Undeniably some of her drinking buddies became more “open” and started to tell how these alcoholism and alcohol abuse effects had negatively affected their parents and some of their friends.

After emphasizing some of the alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse problems that are related to excessive and irresponsible drinking, most of her buddies seemed to agree to the idea about getting information on the web. They were, conversely, cautious about discussing their drinking situations with any of the teachers at school. As Diane thought about this she told herself, “at least they are willing to learn more about their abusive drinking. This is a fantastic start.”
